I created this wrapping paper design for the UAL Not Just A Shop Christmas wrapping paper competition. I really wanted to create something that would have a personal connection to people from all around the world, so I decided to create my design based on unique festive traditions from 18 different countries. Like a quilt, this design envelops your gifts in a warm hug, tied together with the many special festivities from cultures all across the world.
You'll spot mythical winter creatures (like Sweden's Gävle goat and Iceland's Yule cat), winter festivals (like Mexico's Night of the Radishes), and even Christmas foods particular to certain countries (KFC in Japan, carved apples in China).
