A one-page comic based on an extract from The Great Silence by Ted Chiang (2015). It depicts the new discovery of a historical event that wiped out a portion of the Earth’s human population - a pandemic caused by an extraterrestrial parasite. Using my interpretation, I visualized the extract in a more abstract way, playing around with time, expression, and symbolism to create this illustration.
At the bottom of this page are a series of miscellaneous one-page comics I created to challenge myself in telling a story without the use of words. I put lots of emphasis on expression and took inspiration from various genres of manga and comics while developing these illustrations.
